This years Creamfields is celebrating it's 10th anniversary. The event will be held in its current home, which it moved to in 2006, Daresbury, Halton in Cheshire.
This year will be held over 2 days Saturday August 23rd to Sunday August 24th and tickets start from £115 for weekend ticket with camping - you can buy a ticket for £105 weekend ticket without camping.
But come on - you have to go for the dance festival camping experience - surely??
There are also day passes available starting at £57.50 for the saturday and £53.50 for the Sunday - Please remember that booking fees are also applicable.
For those of you that really want to splash the cash you can hire different types of accomodation such as tipi's or my favourite a yurt.
This has to be the ultimate luxury camping experience but includes a bed and lockable wooden door. For more info visit www.yurtel.co.uk
The line up includes all of the leading Dance Dj's and can be found on the Creamfields Website - you can view the line up by clicking here
This event seems to get bigger and better each year

Sunrise Celebration
Sunrise celebration will this year be held on 29th May - 1st June.
This is the 3rd year for the festival and is based down in somerset.
Its a festival committed to setting new standards of sustainability - in fact it's probably one of the greenest festivals at the moment you'll go to.
There are 12 stages with 13 arenas. The entertainment is a real 24 hour thing and they are really keen to promote the fun element of the festival. It includes shows, workshops and everything else you would come to expect.
There will be 200 live bands at the event and 100 Dj's. It also includes some of my old favorites I used to listen to (and still do) The Orb, and Eat Static.
This is a great alternative to the Glastonbury event, which has now become so saturated. Gone are the days at Glasto where you and your group of mates can buy a load of tickets and go along together. I blame that for the problem of reduced ticket sales to the event.
This is a real alternative, and to quote Michael Eavis, Glastonbury Organiser "The Sunrise celebration seems to me to be something like it was here about 35 years ago"
Word of warning as stated by Sunrise - do NOT buy tickets from www.summerfestivals.com - This apparently is a touting website and tickets from here will be refused entry.
For more information on the festival you can check out their website http://www.sunrisecelebration.com
Congratulations to the Champions of Europe

Well it's only right that I pay tribute to man united, after a tremendous effort in winning the champions league in moscow 2008.
The game didn't let us down either with both teams contributing to a fantastic game of football.
What a great advert for english football.
United dominated the first half and should have been 2 or 3 goals up. Ronaldo played his part by terrorising Essien down the left wing and popped up on the far post to score an almighty header.
Chelsea got back in to it late in the first half with a relatively lucky goal from Lampard.
The second half kicked off with Chelsea taking more control and put united on the back foot. However Man u held strong and created further chances. Chelsea hit the woodwork twice and then the moron Drogba got sent off. 120 minutes couldn't seperate the sides so it went to penalties.
The team that held their nerve, that played the better football and battled the hardest and ultimately wanted it more, won on the night.
So a big congratulations to united - I'm off to see if i can mash up the champions league theme tune (if it hasn't already been done)

Tickets are on sale now but are running out fast - There are websites out there that are charging alot - I found one site that was charging over £200 for two tickets which included their £30 commission fee (which you have to pay for)!!!
I logged on to ticketmaster and found them for alot cheaper and the seats were better.
Prices ranged from £32 to £57 and that is best price i have found so far.

Trance Energy 2008
Check out out the intro from Tiesto - even the lazer show that accompanies it is amazing.
I haven't yet been able to get to Trance energy yet even though this was the 15th event that has been held - but believe me I will make it.
The line up for trance energy was an all star event, which is no surprise that even though the trance event is held in the Netherlands, it is attracting more and more interest from abroad.
There are four stages at this event with the club stage for the local talent and the future stage where the "new blood" is coming through.
The line up for Trance Energy 2008 was as follows;
Main stage
Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Sander Van Doorn, Kyau and Albert, Mark Sherry, MC Mighty Mike
Hard stage/High Contrast
Marcel Woods, Rank 1 (dj set), Nic Chagall, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Ronald van Gelderen, Ernesto vs Bastian (dj set), Joop, Jochen Miller
Future Stage
Sean Tyas, Phynn, John O Callaghan, Airbase, Tom Cloud, Sied van Riel, MaRLo, Ultraform, MC Gunner
Clubstage
Jean, Funkerman, Tony Cha Cha, Chris Rox, Mike S, Roy Gates
Enjoy!

Old School - Literally
I was flicking through my music library earlier when I stumbled across some tunes that reminded me of my old school days. Back in 1995 we used to have a juke box at school (along with a pool table - what perks!!!) and this was the one tune that I always remembered would make me stop what i was doing and just listen to it - which is probably why i didn't get much done as i always put it on, but never got bored of it.
The crowning moment was when we played it at my wedding, which thanks to my new wife turned into a mini rave up.
But thats another story and i'll come to that another time - Glowsticks and whistles!!!!
Anyhoos - have a listen
La Luna - To the beat of the drum
Suggestions
If you have any suggestions for the ruff beats music site, then I would be more than happy to listen. This is a Blog that I have created as I am passionate about Dance music.
This is a blog for all you clubbers out there.
I want to share in your experiences
I want to hear what dance music everyone else is listening to, and I want to know what events you feel should not be missed.
Coming Soon
This site is dedicated to my love of dance music and all types of it - I will be looking to do a poll for what people think the all time best dance track is and will be looking for your help - any suggestions you may have are welcomed.
I will also be looking to find out what events are happening so if you, like friends of mine are into organising many events then tell the masses here.
